About me

Thank you for selecting me as your clinical counselor. I look forward to our work together. This information should answer your questions about my qualifications, but feel free to ask me any questions you have, and I will gladly answer them or provide you with other supporting documents as needed. I am qualified to work with adolescents, young adults, and adults under 50. My treatment experience is with: *Mind, body, emotion integration *Eating Disorders *Anxiety disorders *Athlete and sport psychology *Transition issues of young adulthood *Depression I completed a 900-hour training internship during my graduate studies at The University of North Carolina Greensboro and continue to gain continuing education on the all the topics listed above. I have worked in various settings which have given me a wealth of knowledge and experience, including substance abuse treatment, community mental health, private practice, and a pediatric medical clinic. My counseling style emerged out of the theories of Carl Rogers, who saw the importance of accepting a client wholeheartedly and building a therapeutic relationship around which trust of the client and unconditional positive regard of the therapist brings about change. I also use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused techniques. I am very open-minded and understanding and my counseling style is casual and warm. I look forward to working with you!
