About me

Hello my name is Amy Shafer, I hold degrees in Psychology and Human Development from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 1989, a Master of Social Work from San Diego State University specializing in Clinical work 1991, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California since 1994. I have worked extensively over the past 30 years with all age groups. I have most recently specialized in adult and geriatric individuals and families with a number of different issues including depression, anxiety, stress, family conflict, trauma/abuse, adjusting to stages of life and grief and loss issues. I consider it a privilege to be apart of a support system for individuals and families who are competently seeking professional help to address challenges in their lives. My contemporary work focuses on family systems, relationships, interpersonal recovery, trauma loss, and problem solving life’s stressors. Decades of experience with all age groups and in many settings has provided me with an ability to have an open mind and an ability to provide many tools to assist you with.
