About me

Kind. Supportive. Caring. I was once asked, “How can you help people with their issues if you’ve been sad or upset?” I smiled and responded, “The same way a medical doctor helps patients who are sick; with thoughtfulness and integrity.” I am not immune from life’s challenges because I am a therapist. I believe that life experiences have helped me become more compassionate toward people who are hurting. My education, training, and professional expertise provide the tools for me to counsel individuals and families. It is such an honor to support and counsel my clients as they move through their healing process. Education & academic honors: Troy University graduate: BS in Human Services minor in Psychology (Cum Laude), MS in Counseling Psychology Member of Chi Sigma Iota The National Dean’s list, Provost’s List Professional background: Licensed Professional Counselor Fifteen years of counseling experience Program Coordinator of the Child/Adolescent Day Treatment Professional Settings: private practice, community mental health, Auburn University’s Student Counseling & Psychological Services, Juvenile Probation Court Liaison, Coffee County Family Services, and Pike County Child Advocacy Center Services: individual, family, couples, in-home, group, and crisis counseling Counseled: children, teens, college students, and adults. One professional accomplishment that I am most proud of: In 2009, as the Program Coordinator, at Mountain Lakes Behavioral Healthcare, I created and implemented the Jackson County location’s first Child/Adolescent Day Treatment Program. In 2019, the program celebrated ten years of service to children with mental health concerns.
