My name is Destinee Abrego and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in Texas and I have over 18 years experience in the counseling profession and I have worked with a wide range of populations to include, school aged children, teens/ adolescents, and adults that present with a variety of issues and concerns. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, anger, LGBT issues, and adjustment disorders. My treatment approach is set on the foundation of building a therapeutic relationship by establishing trust and rapport. I am eclectic in the theories I use and some of the therapeutic approaches I use include theory’s such as solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, attachment theory’s, mindfulness, , and client centered approaches. I will focus on your strengths, abilities and skills to help you achieve your individualized goals. I believe that therapy is a professional relationship in which both the therapist and client work together to set attainable goals that best fit your needs. What you will get from me is a safe non-judgmental place to be yourself.
