Ellen Markey (LPC)

I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 30 years. My journey has allowed me to serve individuals from many walks of life with a range of concerns. I work with adults age 18 and older. With a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, my experience has centered upon helping other’s deal with unexpected life changing physical illnesses and injuries. Some situations are permanent, other temporary or recurring. Addressing the grief, depression, anxiety and anger has been a focus of need. My approach is empathetic and sensitive listening as everyone has a different response to what happens to them. I have utilized many approaches in addition to active listening such as RBT, CBT and Motivational Interviewing. I offer a safe space to talk to inspire acceptance, coping and change. Adjustment issues of life is another area I am very comfortable with. I have worked with people struggling with relationship, job, career, household and changes related to big moves of location.
