About me

My name is Erin Murphy (she/they) and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor (LPCC-S) in the Commonwealth of Kentucky providing trauma-informed, individualized, neurodivergent-, LGBTQ+, kink-, and ENM- affirming services to adult Kentuckians. I received my Master’s (MS. Ed.) and Education Specialist (Ed. S.) degrees in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kentucky. I also have a master’s degree (M.A.) in Philosophy from the University of Kentucky. I am currently certified as an ADHD Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) and Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS). I have previously been certified as both a Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) and Clinical Telemental Health Provider (CTMH). While much of my recent continuing education has been focused on providing appropriate care for neurodivergent individuals, I work to provide mental health care for all individuals, regardless of their neurotype. This means providing counseling that is sensitive to each person’s particular needs, strengths, and goals while increasing their awareness of the negative impacts of stigma and avoidance. Since you are the expert on yourself, my practice is non-directive (you guide what we talk about) and person-centered (non-judgmental and supportive). I consider myself an ACT provider, and, as such, I bring in techniques and concepts from many other evidence-based practices and work to tailor them to each person’s unique strengths and goals. I have experience working with individuals on a wide range of mental health issues (including anxiety, depression, stress/burnout, and trauma) and problems in living (interpersonal, work, and education related issues). I believe that combining psychoeducation and modified traditional therapy techniques help to normalize and validate people’s experiences, as well as help them to achieve their particular goals. I offer 45-minute sessions (phone, video, or chat) Monday through Friday. My first session of the day typically starts at 10:00 AM, and my last session starts at 6:00 PM. If you are interested in working with me, you can schedule a session through your dashboard. If you need a session that falls outside my typical schedule, please let me know. It is possible we can work something out. Please message me, if you have any questions or concerns.
