About me

With 25 years of experience, Linda Spielman specializes in helping adolescents, young adults, and parents. She is intensively trained by the Linehan Institute in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and co-founded the first DBT practice in Austin, Texas (2005-2024). In addition, she provides a trauma-informed psychodynamic approach. Linda’s warm authentic style creates a safe space to process sensitive topics, overcome challenges and create lasting change. After a guest appearance on The Today Show, she produced an instructional DVD, “Teens who Self-Injure.” She’s trained hundreds of school counselors, teachers and nurses on the topic. Her three years of post-graduate studies include Family Systems, Mindfulness and Attachment therapy.
