Meryl Galvan (LMHC)

My name is Meryl Galvan and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida. I have 10 years of experience treating adults, adolescents, families, and couples with many different mental health issues and conflicts. In addition to general mental health, I have experience in treating trauma, grief, relationships, health psychology, and substance abuse. In addition to my therapeutic work, I have supervised teams of clinicians to insure they provide the highest quality of care to clients in outpatient treatment. I provide a therapeutic approach that is patient and engaging. I provide compassion while helping my clients find solutions to the challenges in their lives. I am direct and sincere as I allow my clients to gain what they need from therapy including insight, coping skills, and resolutions. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Solution Focused Therapy to help my clients achieve their goals. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology both from the University of West Florida, as well as additional certification in health psychology. I am a Certified Therapist in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as well. I believe that therapy is work and I am willing to put the work in with you. I do much more than listen and talk. I provide lasting coping skills and insight that you will be able to use not just with your struggles now, but with future issues that may come about in your life.
