About me

STATEMENT OF PROFESSIONAL DISCLOSURE Patricia L. Rembert-Anderson, MHR, LPC, NCC #10207 OK/#93160 TX I am required by law to furnish you with this document. I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with specialization in Management from Cameron University and a Master of Human Relations degree from The University of Oklahoma with a focus on counseling. I am currently working on certification for Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). The licensing website is www.ok.gov/behavioralhealth for Oklahoma and www.bhec.texas.gov/texas for Texas where you can access the law and regulations which govern my licenses. I will furnish you with printed materials about the requirements of my licensure if you so desire. You may contact (without giving your name), the following State Boards for information pertaining to my licensures #10207-OK and #93160-TX respectively: State Board of Behavioral Texas State Board of Health Licensure Examiners of Professional Counselors 3815 N. Santa Fe, Ste. 110 1801 Congress Ave., Ste. 7.300 Oklahoma City, OK 73118 Austin, TX 78701 Telephone: (405) 522-3696 Telephone: (512) 305-7700 www.ok.gov/behavioralhealth www.bhec.texas.gov/texas I have been educated and trained in a variety of psychological approaches. The Humanistic approach, which says for a person to “grow”, they need an environment that provides them with genuineness (openness and self-disclosure), acceptance (being seen with unconditional positive regard), and empathy (being listened to and understood) most closely reflects my personal belief. The Cognitive-Behavioral approach, which says that our thoughts and feelings profoundly affect our emotions and behaviors, is another approach that I follow. The goal of therapy will be to diminish existing problems by examining and identifying those thought patterns which are negative and problematic and restructuring them into more positive and adaptive patterns of thinking about oneself and one’s environment. If you have any further questions regarding my training or practice, please feel free to contact me.
