Let me introduce myself: My name is Susan Sogar, LMHC, NCC and I am a licensed mental health counselor in Florida. I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2015. I am a nationally certified counselor and trained in EMDR. My philosophy is based on the belief that we need an environment of support, understanding, and unconditional acceptance in order to heal and grow. Therefore, my first focus in counseling is to develop a relationship of trust and understanding. My second focal point is on identifying your strengths, some of which you may not even have discovered. Third, my focus is pragmatic and positive. I will help you identify practical, positive solutions for the future. As an “expat” from Germany who has also lived in a number of other countries abroad for many years, I deeply honor the cultural and spiritual identity of my clients. I have counseled clients from many different religious and cultural backgrounds and therefore appreciate all political, religious or even philosophical convictions as valid attempts to find meaning in life.
