About me

Taylor earned his Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia, where he graduated with advanced standing and a focus on Clinical Mental Health. Taylor’s internships were focused on clinical work with “grandfamilies” (familial units where grandparents are raising their grandchildren) and homeless families. This experience emboldened Taylor’s belief in the inherent worth of all individuals which was instilled in his childhood. His passion for advocacy, social justice and reform, and service to underserved or disregarded populations has remain unchanged. Since graduating and entering the field in 2010, Taylor has gathered broad social work experience in both the United States and the United Kingdom . He has worked extensively with children and teens in foster care, patients in psychiatric facilities and various medical settings, as well as private practice. Taylor’s extensive amount of time working in these setting has shown him the importance of maintaining physical health and mental health simultaneously to achieve the best outcomes, as well as the the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Taylor’s approach to counseling is eclectic and based upon a person’s individual needs. He primarily draws upon cognitive-behavioral therapy, systems theory, strengths-based theory, solution-focused or brief therapy, and psychoeducation. As part of his treatment approach, Taylor believes in meeting the client where they are at currently, and helping them get to where they want to go. He is dedicated helping clients achieve their goals and improve the quality of their lives.
