About me

Brannon Pruet has been working in the mental health field across the United States for the past twenty-six years. Moving to CO in 1998, Brannon has served as a clinician in two community mental health centers as a case worker and a residential counselor. In addition, he has extensive inpatient psychiatric experience as a counselor/therapist in various metropolitan hospitals providing 1:1 psychotherapy, milieu management, and group therapy facilitation. For 15 years, Brannon has offered crisis assessment services/behavioral health management in the emergency room at St. Anthony Hospital. In 2015, Brannon helped launch the clinical services at Sandstone Care where he has worked in the capacity of adolescent and young adult primary therapist, program director and lead mental health therapist. Dr. Pruet opened an Aurora based private practice in 2006. Brannon received his doctorate in Psychology from Grand Canyon University. He received his Master’s degree in Counseling from Denver Seminary and his Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Medicine/History from Auburn University. In addition, he has completed significant graduate theological studies at Duke University. Dr. Pruet is an ordained evangelical Christian minister through New Horizon Ministry since 2006. Moreover, Brannon is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Colorado and a Certified Addiction Specialist, as well. In the community, he is affiliated with the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI). With NAMI’s help Brannon seeks to remove the stigma of mental illness, to lobby for legislative changes regarding behavioral health issues, and to provide quality, affordable psychiatric care for the Denver metro area. For his efforts, Brannon received a Hero in the Fight Award in 2007. Due to his wealth of experience in acute psychiatric settings, Brannon treats a variety of chronic and persistent mental illness such as Schizophrenia, Bipolar, PTSD, Major Depression, and Anxiety Disorders. In addition, he works with individuals suffering from substance abuse and addiction problems as well as with those with bereavement and grief issues. Brannon also offers couple, marital, and family counseling. In terms of a theoretical approach, Dr. Pruet utilizes an eclectic fusion of Cognitive Behavioral, Client-Centered, EMDR, and Solution-Focused methodologies. Most importantly, Brannon’s Christian faith forms the foundation of his practice. Thus, he adopts a biblical worldview and believes that nurturing the spirit is integral to healing both the body and the mind.
