About me

Thanks for checking out my profile, finding the ‘right fit’ of a therapist is important so this is a little about me. I reside in North Carolina and am licensed to practice in both North Carolina and Minnesota. I have 22 years of clinical experience, yet I continue to learn and grow in my profession so that I can show up fully for those I get to serve. I have experience in helping clients successfully manage stress, anxiety, coping with life transitions and burnout. I am both a therapist and a registered nurse and can offer support to those facing illness or end of life, caregiving stress and burnout. My therapeutic approach includes brief solution focused interventions (figuring out solutions and focusing on the future instead of the past), cognitive behavioral interventions (identifying patterns in our mindset that impact our life), motivational interviewing (helping you identify what you really want to work on) and incorporating mindfulness and meditation. I view my role as being a guide and resource to help you tap into your own strengths to overcome challenges. I believe in helping people learn and practice skills that will help now and that can be used in the future on your own. Together we’ll decide on what you want to work on and create goals and evaluate progress as we go. If something isn’t working we can try a different approach. If you just don’t feel like we ‘click’ that is OK, I’ll help you get connected with another therapist here. You’ve taken a big first step in deciding to invest in yourself and what is most important is that you get the support that you need.
