About me

I am an individual and group therapist with over 30 years of experience working with diverse clients over a wide socioeconomic spectrum. The range of client concerns addressed have included: self-esteem and competence challenges, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress sequelae, emotional flooding and interpersonal effectiveness problems, relationship problems, including job-related communications problems, lack of meaning, living with chronic pain and physical illness, challenges in mid-life and aging, and co-occurring disorders such as depression/anxiety/substance abuse. My basic philosophy is that we all have a deep well of wisdom within us to help us move through life’s problems and reach a place of competence and meaning. But often, a combination of skills deficits, negative patterns of thinking, inability to self-soothe and feelings of helplessness, along with lack of access to information or resources, blocks our ability to drink from the well. My job as a therapist is to invite my client into a working partnership in which my client feels safe in self-disclosure as we discern the issues my client wants to address and search for solutions and healing. This partnership is a sacred trust. I welcome the opportunity to work with you.
